Phin, over at Phin's Blog gave me a heads up on the blogrolling pinger. What's a pinger? It's basically a little tool you can use to tell a site that you have updated your blog. If you don't send pings some people will have no idea when you update. Remember, updating is one of the keys to more traffic.

I don't know why it was added in the first place. The service is only available to users who have signed up in advance. Other users are blocked. In order to sign up, the blog must be written in Danish and meet certain other criteria. So I don't think it is appropriate to include in this list.
Currently I block several hits to the XML-RPC service per second. This is consuming quite a lot of resources on my little server.
